My Father Could Be Funny
My father had a strange sense of humor, as most fathers do I suppose. He could be very crass and juvenile sometimes, but at other times I really admired his wit. He was extremely well-read and only read non-fiction, especially world news and politics, because he believed fiction was a complete waste of time.
Whenever he wrote, he always used an old black typewriter and I remember hearing the bashing of the keys with his two index fingers at the end of the hall throughout my childhood. His handwriting, or printing rather, was completely illegible. Only my mother and sister and I could decipher it and this was usually a team effort. I just came across an old letter he sent me while I was in university. He had created a whole list of courses with hilarious titles, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I will share some of the best ones with you now. I hope you might find them as entertaining as I did.
