Inexplicable Things

Do you ever have the feeling that something that defies logic is happening to you? My husband and I encounter little situations daily that make us stop and look at each other slack-jawed. We will be talking about some really old song from our childhood and then it will be referenced on the show we are watching the same evening. He keeps seeing the number 209 everywhere, which was the racing number of his stepfather who passed a few years back. I messaged my brother-in-law to ask about a very old piggy bank that my daughter had just found in a box, and he said that his aunt gave him that piggy bank and she just died the morning I was calling.

I have known close friends and relatives who have experienced strange happenings in their lives that seemed beyond the realm of what is possible. My close friend, who is the most intelligent and sensible woman, experienced astral traveling once. In a dream, she saw every detail of an old flame’s bedroom, even though she had never stepped foot in his current home. He confirmed all the details via phone call the next day.

Our favorite aunt had a recurrent dream since childhood that she was in an old-fashioned wedding gown standing on a cliff trying to get up the nerve to jump off. While she was traveling in another country, she walked into a church, sat down in a specific pew, and reached underneath to feel a crack in the wood that seemed eerily familiar. Suddenly, she knew this was the town where the dream had taken place.
